"The Dream"
Mixed Media. Steel, gypsum, tar, cloth, pennies, ash, paint, and other mixed media. Measures approximately 11 ft. tall by 7 ft. wide by 4 ft. deep. (This work needs to be restored and if anyone is interested in buying please contact me for details). Also, I will donate to appropriate venue with help of funds to fully restore.

This work came to me after many years of having a dream repetitively. In the dream I was a person who lived in a stone round room...felt as if in Europe and back in the mid-evil times. I would stand at a stone alter, wearing a dark cloak and be waiting for a messenger who came to me in the form of a black bird. The bird and I would converse but not in human language. It was telepathic. This bird would change form and shape shift to a large bird and at times would have human features but mainly it remained bird.
I decided to make a sculpture to transport the dream into 3-D. I never have had the dream since making the work. |
